Frequently Asked Questions about Line Sorting & Cleaning
What is the difference between standard alphabetical and natural sorting?
Standard alphabetical sorting compares characters ASCII by ASCII, which places "item 10" before "item 2" because "1" precedes "2". Natural sorting recognizes embedded numbers and orders them as a human would: item 1, item 2, item 10, item 20.
Does case-insensitive deduplication merge "Apple" and "apple"?
Yes! When "Case-sensitive duplicates" is unchecked, "Apple" and "apple" are recognized as duplicates, and only the first occurrence is kept.
How do I format a column of IDs into a SQL IN clause?
Enter single quote (') in both the Prefix and Suffix inputs, and set the Join Delimiter to comma plus space (, ). Your lines will immediately transform into 'id1', 'id2', 'id3' on a single line.
What does "Isolate Duplicates Only" do?
Instead of removing duplicate items, this mode filters the list to show only the lines that were repeated. It is especially useful for finding data entry errors, email list collisions, and duplicate database entries.
Are my lists or data uploaded to DevsLoad servers?
No. The entire sorting, deduplication, and cleaning process runs 100% in local browser JavaScript. Your data is never uploaded, recorded, or transmitted to any server.
