Why Developers Choose DevsLoad URL Encoder

High-performance, RFC-compliant URL tooling designed for developers, DevOps, and API testers.

RFC 3986 & WHATWG Compliant

Supports standard %20 percent-encoding as well as legacy form-urlencoded plus (+) notations with complete UTF-8 Unicode fidelity.

Zero-Crash Resilient Parser

Our engine safely decodes malformed percent sequences (such as broken % or invalid hex bytes) without throwing unhandled URIErrors.

Live Query Parameter Inspector

Extracts query parameters into an editable key-value table. Add, modify, or remove query keys with instantaneous real-time sync.

100% Client-Side Privacy

Every byte is processed locally inside your web browser. No URLs, query tokens, or authentication keys are ever transmitted over the network.

How to Encode, Decode, and Inspect URLs

1

1. Select Your Operation Mode

Choose Encode to percent-escape reserved characters, Decode to restore human-readable text, or Query Inspector to dissect parameters.

2

2. Configure Encoding Options

Toggle between URI Component (for query values) and Full URL (to preserve http/https structure), or choose between %20 and + for space characters.

3

3. Paste or Type Your URL

Enter your string in the input field. Results update instantaneously as you type with live character metrics and byte counts.

4

4. Copy or Export

Copy the transformed URL with a single click, swap input and output for roundtrip testing, or download the clean text file.

Frequently Asked Questions About URL Encoding & Query Parameters

What is URL encoding (Percent-Encoding)?

URL encoding (also known as percent-encoding) is a mechanism for encoding information in a Uniform Resource Identifier (URI) under RFC 3986. It converts characters that are not allowed in URLs—or that have special syntactic meanings (such as &, ?, =, /, #, spaces, and non-ASCII characters)—into a % followed by two hexadecimal digits representing their UTF-8 byte value.

What is the difference between encodeURI() and encodeURIComponent()?

encodeURI() is intended for encoding a complete URL. It preserves protocol delimiters, slashes, and query operators (http://, ?, &, =). In contrast, encodeURIComponent() encodes every reserved symbol, making it ideal for encoding individual query string parameter keys or values so they do not break the overall URL structure.

When should I use %20 vs + for spaces?

Under standard RFC 3986 URI specifications, spaces should be encoded as %20. However, in HTML forms submitting application/x-www-form-urlencoded data, spaces are traditionally encoded as a plus (+). DevsLoad lets you toggle between both formats depending on your backend API requirements.

Are my private URLs and API query tokens uploaded to any server?

No. All encoding, decoding, query string parsing, and parameter manipulation happen entirely client-side using JavaScript in your web browser. Nothing is ever logged, stored, or sent to DevsLoad backend servers.

How does the tool handle malformed or broken percent sequences?

Unlike standard JavaScript decodeURIComponent() which throws a fatal URIError on invalid inputs (like % or %Z), our resilient decoding algorithm isolates malformed tokens, decodes the valid components, and preserves the rest safely without crashing.

Can I add or remove query parameters interactively?

Yes! In the Query Parameter Inspector mode, you can edit parameter keys, update values, add new parameters, or delete existing rows. The complete output URL updates immediately.
