Zero Server Telemetry
Calculations occur entirely within your browser using native JavaScript time APIs. Your timestamps, server logs, and dates are never sent to external servers.
Instant Bi-Directional Conversion
Easily parse epoch numbers into UTC, local, and ISO 8601 dates, or select any date and time to copy exact seconds and milliseconds.
Smart Seconds & Milliseconds Detection
Automatically distinguishes 10-digit standard epoch seconds from 13-digit millisecond timestamps without manual configuration.
Live Real-Time Epoch Ticker
A live ticking clock gives you the current epoch time with one-click copying for quick terminal commands, SQL queries, and API testing.
How to Convert Unix Timestamps & Dates
1. Timestamp to Date
Paste any epoch number (seconds or milliseconds) into the input box. The tool instantly generates UTC, local time, and relative duration.
2. Date to Timestamp
Pick a date and time using the native calendar selector or click "Set to Now". The matching Unix seconds and milliseconds update immediately.
3. Copy Formatted Values
Click the copy icon on any generated date or timestamp value to paste it directly into your database, code, or terminal.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Unix epoch timestamp?
A Unix timestamp (or POSIX time) is the total number of seconds elapsed since January 1, 1970, 00:00:00 UTC (not counting leap seconds). It is the universal standard for storing timestamps in databases, APIs, and operating systems.
How does the tool know if an input is seconds or milliseconds?
Standard Unix timestamps in seconds are currently 10 digits long (e.g. 1729680000). Millisecond timestamps commonly used in JavaScript and modern APIs are 13 digits long (e.g. 1729680000000). The tool auto-detects this length or allows manual selection.
What will happen on the Year 2038 Problem (Y2038)?
On January 19, 2038 at 03:14:07 UTC, 32-bit signed integers will overflow. Modern 64-bit systems and JavaScript numbers (which support safe integers up to 9,007,199,254,740,991) will continue running for billions of years without issue.
Does this tool work completely offline?
Yes! The entire conversion engine runs locally in your browser. Once the page is loaded, it requires no internet connection and sends zero data to our servers.
